and a special presentation by the indigenous peoples of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta
at National Geographic Headquarters, 1600 M Street

As part of the Enviromental Film Festival in the Nation's Capital, National Geographic Live!, with support from the Embassy of Colombia, will present a screening of the new National Geographic Channel Film Ancient Voices, Modern World: Colombia, documenting explorer Wade Davis' journey into the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, at the invitation of the indigenous Arhuaco people, to document their rituals to maintain the Earth's balance and fertility, and to convey an important message from the Arhuaco to the other peoples of the world. Joining us for this special event will be a group from the indigenous peoples of the Sierra Nevada who are traveling from Colombia to make an appeal to all peoples of the planet to maintain the balance of nature on which we all depend, and to preserve their sacred lands.
