February 11, 2012: U.S. Soldiers participated in a U.S. Army South-sponsored Subject Matter Expert Exchange with the Belize Defense Force and the Belize Coast Guard Service near Belmopan, Belize, Feb. 6-17. During the two-week exchange, the Belizeans trained the Soldiers in patient evacuation techniques in a jungle environment such as high angle evacuations using rappelling techniques, confined space evacuations in caves and swift water river evacuations. February 6, 2012: U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Tammy Von Busch, the lead veterinarian embarked aboard high speed vessel Swift (HSV-2), checks the health of a puppy living at the Peruvian canine unit at the Callao Naval Base in Callao, Peru, Jan. 30, 2012. Von Busch participated in a subject matter expert exchange regarding military working dogs and administered general medical advice. The U.S. and Peruvian militaries are working together at the base to refurbish schools, exchange subject matter expertise and assist in animal research and military working dog care. February 6, 2012: U.S. Marines embarked aboard High Speed Vessel (HSV 2) Swift conduct a subject matter expert exchange about weapons and range procedures with officers of the Peruvian Marine Corps as part of Southern Partnership Station 2012 in Ancon, Peru, Jan. 20, 2012. The Marines will spend three weeks exchanging ideas and conducting practical exercises on areas that will include basic rifle marksmanship, patrolling in a desert environment, combat tactics and demolition techniques.
