| June 7, 2012: TOLEMAIDA, Colombia (June 7, 2012) -- A competitor from Chile participates in the rifle qualification event at the Colombian National Training Center in Fort Tolemaida. Fuerzas Comando, established in 2004, is a U.S. Southern Command-sponsored special forces skills competition and senior leader seminar which is conducted annually. This event is aimed at enhancing training and strengthening regional and multinational cooperation, mutual trust, readiness and interoperability of special operations forces in the region. | June 6, 2012: KINGSTON, Jamaica (June 11, 2012) -- A Bahamian diver enters the water to conduct a bottom search during a subject matter expert exchange with Canadian divers as part of Navy Dive-Southern Partnership Station 2012 (ND-SPS 12). The Canadian divers joined Mobile Diving and Salvage Unit 2, Company 2-1, and divers from Chile, the Bahamas and Jamaica in support of ND-SPS12, a multinational partnership engagement designed to increase interoperability and partner nation capacity through diving operations. | May 31, 2012: Pictured is one of two vessels delivered to Grenada in May 2012 as part of the U.S. maritime security assistance initiative called Secure Seas. The Secure Seas program, part of the Caribbean Basin Security Initiative and managed by U.S. Southern Command, is providing patrol boats and communications systems to nine Eastern Caribbean nations to help deter regional maritime threats associated with transnational organized crime. The interceptor boats provided by Secure Seas are fitted with state-of-the-art communications and radar suites and can reach speeds in excess of 60 mph.
