April 14, 2010: ST. LUCIA (April 14, 2010) Sailors aboard the guided-missile frigate USS Klakring (FFG 42) prepare to get underway from St. Lucia. Klakring is on a port visit to St. Lucia during a scheduled six-month deployment to Latin America and the Caribbean as part of Southern Seas 2010. Southern Seas is a U.S. Southern Command-directed operation that provides U.S. and international forces the opportunity to operate in a mulit-national environment. July 4, 2008: USS Simpson Commanding Officer Cmdr. Edwin Kaiser greets U.S. Ambassador to the Eastern Caribbean Mary Ourisman. The ambassador took part in a presentation recognizing Project Handclasp donations Simpson gave to the St. Lucian Red Cross and Salvation Army. Simpson was in St. Lucia for a 6-day port visit in support of Theater Security Cooperation (TSC), Sailors participated in community relations events, Subject Matter Expert Exchanges and other events designed to strengthen ties and establish working relationships with partner nations.
